Gemlik Black Olives XL 900g – Meaty, Thin-Skinned & Natural | Anatolia
Available in stock (97)
The olive you know – if you know what you're looking for.
Anyone who has sat at a Turkish breakfast table knows this olive: dark, slightly wrinkled, fleshy, with a mild, slightly nutty inherent flavor. The Gemlik olive is the most famous black olive in Turkey – and is considered one of the finest varieties in Anatolia. Our Gemlik olives come in size XL (caliber 201–230), have a lot of flesh, a thin skin, and are completely free of additives.
900 g in a jar – the right amount for those who want olives on their table daily.
What is the Gemlik olive?
The Gemlik olive is a traditional Turkish olive variety from the region of the same name on the Sea of Marmara. It enjoys a geographical indication of origin in Turkey – comparable to Greek Kalamata or Spanish Arbequina. The variety is characterized by its particularly thin skin, high flesh content, and mild, slightly salty taste. It is traditionally ripened in brine or in its own juice – without preservatives, without coloring agents.
What does caliber 201–230 mean?
The caliber indicates how many olives are contained per kilogram. Caliber 201–230 means: between 201 and 230 pieces per kilogram. That sounds like a lot – but for Gemlik olives, it's the XL class. In comparison: cheap olives from the supermarket are often caliber 301–350 or smaller. Larger olives have more flesh, a better pit-to-flesh ratio, and a more intense flavor.
What are Gemlik olives suitable for?
• Turkish breakfast – the centerpiece of every Kahvaltı table, alongside Ezine Peyniri, olive oil, and fresh bread
• Mediterranean breakfast platters – as a black olive alongside green olives, cheese, and tomatoes
• Meze platters – served pure with olive oil and herbs
• As a side dish – with fish, grilled vegetables, antipasto
• In salads – as a stronger alternative to mild supermarket olives
• Directly from the jar – for those who don't need detours
Natural – what's really inside?
Many olives in commercial trade contain preservatives (E270, E325), coloring agents, or stabilizers. Our Gemlik olives are produced without any additives – traditionally ripened, processed according to traditional methods. What's in the jar: olives, water, salt. Nothing else.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are your black olives artificially blackened?
Are your black olives artificially blackened?
No, absolutely not. In contrast to many industrial products, we completely refrain from using iron gluconate or other colorants. Our olives ripen naturally on the tree until they reach their dark color. With Eleaminon, you enjoy 100% natural purity without chemical post-treatment.
What does "natural fermentation" mean for your olives?
What does "natural fermentation" mean for your olives?
Industrially processed olives are often artificially debittered with lye in just a few days. Our olives, however, undergo a traditional, months-long ripening process in a simple brine. This slow process preserves the valuable polyphenols, vitamins, and the fruit's authentic, fruity flavor.
Why are your olives less salty than conventional products?
Why are your olives less salty than conventional products?
We focus on the pure taste of nature. Our"Kuru Sele" (dry-cured)olives, in particular, are processed with a minimal salt content to emphasize their intense natural flavor. If you prefer them even milder, you can briefly rinse the olives with cold water before consumption.
What's the best way to store olives after opening?
What's the best way to store olives after opening?
To best preserve their freshness and crispness, olives should be stored in the refrigerator after opening. Make sure that the olives remain submerged in the brine (for pickled varieties). Our dry-cured olives in a glass jar will stay fresh for many weeks in the refrigerator.
Where exactly do your olives come from, and who produces them?
